Actions speak louder than words
Speaking of Hamas and the Palestinians, they never fail to surprise you with their lack of scruples when it comes to promoting their political ends. Murdering defenseless children is labeled as “heroic” by Hamas, which once again emphasizes how hopeless it is to donate money to this ruthless paramilitary terror-organization. It will only be perceived as a reward for ill behavior.
On a more peculiar note, it was apparently a kid armed with a hand-gun that stopped the murderous terrorist, by shooting him in the leg from a rooftop (the NRA will have a field day with that).
Of course, even though you can probably judge the death-dealing Hamas by their reaction to this incidence, it would be gravely unfair to judge the Palestinians by the actions of one deluded zealot. But regarding the question of how strong the fraction of nut-cases that will stop at nothing short of the total obliteration of Israel is, it may be noted that the incidence, nedless to say, spurred the predictable “intense celebratory shooting” with “hundreds chanting and clapping in the streets” of Gaza City. Well, maybe a majority still wants a peaceful settlement, including a recognition of Israel, but a large, implacable minority of ruthless zealots with a deathwish, still knows that action speaks louder than words.
I don’t see the “heroic”-part in your linkage. Only a Hamas-condemnation.
You are right – they updated the article and erased it, for some reason. It used to be there – but here it is on another link, and I updated the one that did not work: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7282269.stm
Thanks for the notice.
